Descripción del evento

Los próximos 24 y 25 de octubre la Comisión Europea (DGHOME-DG Research) organiza el evento más relevante de la investigación en Seguridad, Security Research Event (SRE), que se celebrará en Bruselas bajo la Presidencia Española de la Unión Europea y con la colaboración de Suecia. El evento también podrá ser seguido via streaming (se recomienda estar registrado en el portal del participante para información actualizada), opción de inscripción para seguirlo online.

La Secretaría de PESI estará presente en el evento, para detectar oportunidades y posibles Consorcios de interés para los Socios de PESI en la actual y próxima convocatoria del Horizonte Europa Cluster-3 Seguridad civil para la Sociedad. Security Research Event (SRE) will take place during the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU and is prepared and organised with support of Sweden and Spain.

The event will take place in Brussels on 24 and 25 October 2023 at Square Brussels Convention Centre. 

The 2023 edition of the Security Research Event will feature

• Two days of Conferences with thematic sessions;
• Exhibition presenting projects, their achievements, and small-scale demonstrations;
• The Security Innovation Award Ceremony.

This year’s event will focus on challenges stemming from global megatrends, which are shifting the ground for security in the EU. The main themes are embraced by the event’s title: “Societal transformation, digitalisation and climate change – a new paradigm for Security Research?”

The SRE 2023 will consist of a Conference and an Exhibition. Opening Keynote Speeches and an Introductory High Level Round Table on the future of security research will set the policy context and provide thoughts for thematic panels of the event. The Exhibition will illustrate the main themes of the event with over 50 booths presenting selected security research projects funded by the EU programmes, as well booths presenting activities of the European Commission, EU agencies in the field of justice and home affairs and the national security research activities of Spain. The Exhibition will be complemented by small scale demos from selected EU projects.
